just came back from a crazy 17day vacation in china/HK....crazy meaning i was sick 14/17 days....which i can say now since i'm back home and not on threat of quarantine, which was what i was worried about cuz china sick is not good sick to security =p
we had the most amazing view of the harbour in HK but no one well enough to fully enjoy it...but our mission to see our veryvery old grandmothers was accomplished, though it was touch and go since...well, we were all sicklies.
anyway, i don't post here much, so a hiatus is not surprising, and i guess i don't comment much on others' journals, but i know i've missed a lot of holiday card signups, and i've also missed posting up my own....

thanks you guys for all the support for my idea~ your enthusiasm really counters the anxiety and worries so i really feel quadruply jazzed about starting this up.
i decided to start up a progress blog that will end up being the project blog for people who might want to participate.

THIS IS SO GROSS I HAVE TO POST!!
the red brick building to the left is where i work and it was TOTALLY flooded with this POO WATER!
it didn't like SERIOUSLY flood the office, but enough water came through the front and it SMELLED HORRIBLE enough for HR to let us all leave early (around 3:30)
BUT! it still took me nearly 2 hrs to get out of the stupid city because my usual freeway was flooded and the 2nd freeway was way too packed and the 3rd coastal highway was blocked off so i had to take the side highway BAH! so i ended up at home only about 30minutes earlier than my normal time.
POO WATER!

i decided to just officially say there's always an open invitation to visit me at work...
actually PLEASE come and see me at work...PLEASE lighten up my undoubtedly horrible days cuz everyday will be boring and barely tolerable unless someone graces me with their presence.
the fact that you're a new face (that i do not see 40+hrs a week) will be reason enough to make me deliriously happy. actually most days i don't take my lunch, so i need someone to visit me to make sure i eat properly...
some of my most happy days were visitor days...it makes the work week go faster and makes me happier to oblige the douchebaggerings of the day knowing i have something else to look forward to.
so yeah, if you're ever in SF's fisherman's wharf, my work is just 3 blocks away (i can potentially have crabs everyday if i wanted to...but i don't)...work is so sad otherwise =( =( |

i'm constantly thinking about this, so i thought i might as well put it out there as a hypothetical situation (like a what if)
but
would anyone ever want to collab on an artbook/novel in the sense that:
- artist/writer provides all the content
- i have all the design and direction on the book presentation
basically, i'm REALLY itchin to do a side project because work sucks and i need an outlet...but as a designer, i can't really just make a book w/o content. i seriously entertained the idea of just writing a retarded novel/memoir type thing of my life thus far JUST so i can print something at this printer i want to use (recommended to me by some pixar people who printed their books from there). obviously, it wouldn't sell, but that's how desperate i wanted to make something.
essentially it would be an artist/writer + designer type collab and i would front a lot of money for production, so i don't pay you anything/you don't pay me anything, but we both go into the product together and once sales covers the production cost, any profit goes just to the artist.
anyway, i delurk to ask just to see what people think. it's just a thought for the future...i usually don't like to involve people in my whims though so it's kind of a long shot. |

it's been so long holding in the news! but YAY! i finally own my first place!

I know i'm not supposed to be posting, but since i reserved it for only giant occassions like moving (to another state i said initially...but meh)
i was going to rant about my experience, and maybe have advice for whoever wanted to embark into the wonderful world of homeownership....but i'm tired haha! but! i have so much to sayyyy! some may have heard through twitter or facebook, but i didn't even touch the bigger obstacles just because it was too much to put on a tiny one liner....
but yeah, i'll post pics of the outside when it's not raining, and i'll make another tour when it's all decorated and fawntastic...but in the mean time, i CAN SPEND MY MONEYYYYY!!!
the biggest problem of all this was the lending officers watching my finacial accounts like HAWKS...i had to explain check deposits that weren't my paycheck, explain where the cash came from for cash deposits...they needed me to confirm and prove EVERY little thing! i didn't even want to buy a meal with my credit card because it could throw off my debt to income ratio....*FRUSTRATION* for a whole month i felt like my finances were in a glass box.
oh also, it's not like i'm rich...i'm poor-ish...so poorish that this is a below market rate house and even THEN my mom pitched in a giant buttload of downpayment because the lenders are soooo cautious these days.

haha again, i have that feeling of wanting to give up the internet...if it's crossed my mind so many times, it must mean i have to do something about it.
i think it's just blogging. while it's been a way of venting to some weird blackhole, i now realise it's not really a blackhole...it does involve people...and then, unforeseeably (?), it involved me thinking about those other people in one form or another...usually it's like "man, who cares about this" stuff i post and while i want to be all macho and "pfft, i don't care if no one cares, i says what i says and i says it loud" i'm, in the end, just a wimp with nothing relevant.
so.
since most of my good online friends chat with me elsewhere already i think i'll leave it to that...
officially, i'll keep my LJ to keep up with you loverly people, because that's something i'll never get bored of...actually, i check my flist pretty religiously and i hope to comment more often, but as for my own posts, that'll be gone...i'll probably post the big things like if i move to another state or pimp projects...it'll just be a more streamlined for the economy blog or something haha.
so! i'll see you guys in your posts if you'll still allow me to comment =p thanks for all your advice throughout the 6 yrs? more? some of my biggest decisions were made easier with your help~~ |
